Get centered. Get grounded. Get ready.

Every religious tradition calls us to stop climate change.

Every religious tradition commands us to care for Creation.  Climate change desecrates Creation.

Every religious tradition instructs us to care for the poor and those who suffer.  Climate change devastates the poor and those who suffer.

Every religious tradition condemns materialism and greed.  Climate change is the consequence of our making an idol of materialism and greed.

Every religious tradition forbids theft.  Climate change is theft from our own children and from the most vulnerable people on the planet, most of them poor and of color.

 Worship and Celebrate

Joining with others in celebration, lamentation, ritual, and song is as ancient as the human species.  In our diverse religious communities, we can honor the earth and call for justice as a consistent part of our worship life. Resources for worship can be found here.

Get Centered

Not all of us pray. But we can all, in Rev. Dr. Howard Thurman’s words, “center down” — connecting with the stillness deep within and the peace that passes understanding.
We offer a few poems and meditations that we hope will help you get centered.

“Once I have surrendered to the divine voice,
then taking a risky act becomes a simple motion of faithfulness.
All I have to do is listen, discern, and hear where God is asking me to place my feet.”
